Sha'alos U'Teshuvos R. Akiva Eiger, first edition. This edition was beautifully printed with nice, clear lettering and on thick, high-quality paper. In their introduction to this work, his sons explain how their father was very particular regarding the print quality. According to his opinion, it is much easier to learn from a beautiful Sefer so it was important that strict printing guidlines should be followed.
A watermark with the name "Eiger" is seen on some leaves; apparently the paper was produced on speacial order for the Eiger family, to fulfill their father's wishes.
A fine copy in excellent condition, with opening title page found only in some copies. Paper slightly browned. Bound in a new, ornate ¼" leather binding with marbelized boards to match.
