Rabbi Meir ben Rabbi Yehuda Leib Eisenstadt (1780-1852), Rosh Yeshiva, Posek, one of the greatest rabbis and leaders of Orthodox Jewry of Hungary. Was one of the first disciples of the Chasam Sofer in Mattersdorf and Pressburg. The son-in-law of Rabbi David Deutsch author of Ohel David. Served as Av Beis Din of Baya and as Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva in Yamroth Ungvar. Hundreds of students learned in his yeshiva and many of the leading rabbis of Hungary were his disciples including Rabbi Asher Anshil Jungreis (author of Menuchas asher, the Rav of Tshengar), Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Tabak (author of Erech Shai), the holy Rav the author of the Imrei Yosef of Spinka and many more. Author of Shut Imrei Esh (Lemberg, 1852), Imrei Yosher (Ungvar, 1864), Imrei Binah (Ungvar, 1866), Imrei Esh on the Torah (Munkatch, 1901) and additional writings.
