The sage Yehuda Diwan was born to his mother and father the sage Amram Diwan in the city, probably in 1682, probably in Jerusalem.
He grew up in Torah and awe, and in his youth moved to the city of Safed. Was a disciple of the sage Yaakov ben David HaCohen, and married his daughter.
In 1708 he went on a mission to the cities of Persia on the mission of the sages of Safed. When word reached him that his father had died, he returned to Eretz Israel.
In his book Chut Hameshlush, he sheds light on the lives of the Jews of Persia, among other things he brings sermons he delivered such as the sermon he delivered in 1703, in the case of Beshalach, in the city of Hamdan, and questions asked in the city of Kashan.
