A letter in the handwriting and signature of Maran HaGaon Rabbi Nissim Karlitz, may God bless him and grant him peace, written as consent to the publisher of a booklet on the importance of speaking in the 'Yiddish' language.

In his letter, the Hagran writes: "Let's hold a favor to a man who merits the many who gathered and explained the benefit of our sons knowing the language of many generations, our ancestors of Ashkenazi descent, which is the Yiddish language."

Our Rebbe concludes his words and blesses that "we will be blessed with the comfort of Zion and Jerusalem in the building of the election house and the restoration of our judges for the first time".

The Gaon Rabbi Shmarihu Yosef Nissim Karlitz (1755 - 555, October 21) is one of the greats of the last generation, a well-known Halachic arbitrator and Abd, head of the Chazon Ish and Rabbi of the 'Ramat Aharon' neighborhood in Bnei Brak.

Our rabbi was born in 'Kosova' to his father Rabbi Nachum Meir Karlitz and his mother who was the sister of Maran the 'Chazon Ish'. In 1936 he immigrated with his family to the Land of Israel, and studied at the 'Tefarat Zion' and Lomja yeshiva. With the establishment of the Ponivaz Yeshiva, his uncle the Chazoa recommended him to move and study there.

In general, he was one of the closest people to his great uncle - the Chazon Ish, and even studied with him in the fellowship.

In the year 1871 and after his marriage, he served as a rabbi at the Hog Hatam Sofer yeshiva and at the Vizhnitz yeshiva, and after his father's death he was appointed head of the Chazon Ish and rabbi of the Haligman synagogue. He also founded the 'Beit Din Tzedek' in Bnei Brak, which he chaired for almost 100 years, he was the president of the yeshiva committee alongside Maran Rabbi Wazner, rabbi of the Ramat Aharon neighborhood and a member of the Torah Elders Council of the Dagat movement.

The great men of Israel admired him and spoke of him with great appreciation, the statement of Maran Hagarish Elyashiv is so well known that "he is the last one who can rule on the laws of appointment directly from the Gemara without resorting to the last books and the Shovat".

Even among your people, the House of Israel, his immense greatness was known when, as "greater than the rabbi of his name, " he was called "Rabbi Nissim."
