Amram Ben Zvi, the son of President Ben Zvi - a very large photo album from the Brigade and the Second World War - 1940-1946.
The album includes over 220 photos from Ben Zvi's service in the British Army. Photos from Israel, Egypt, Italy and possibly other places.
The photographs are of different sizes, without captions.
Many pages are detached from the album and torn, some of the photos have fallen off the album, some are in the lot (separated from the album).
Amram Ben-Zvi enlisted in the British Army in 1940 and served six years in the 462 Transport Company alongside other volunteers from Eretz Israel. In 1943 he survived a disaster while on the British cargo ship Arinfora, when it was bombed by German planes. Hundreds of soldiers, including 140 Jews from Israel, were killed in the disaster.
In parallel with his service in the British army, he assisted as a member of the Haganah in smuggling weapons that were used later in the War of Independence, and in bringing Holocaust refugees to Israel.
