Giladi was born Aron Chaimovich Golodets in Homel (today in Belarus ). Between the years 1923-1926 he studied painting at the Academy of Art in Petrograd . He was active in the Hashomer Hatzair movement and as a result was arrested in 1926, spent eight months in prison and was exiled to Siberia . When he was released in 1929, he joined the nucleus of Hashomer Hatzair and immigrated to Eretz Israel . At first he was with the nucleus in the Kinneret group and in 1932 he founded Kibbutz Afikim with the nucleus . In the kibbutz he worked like the other members in manual labor, and served as a plasterer, builder and painter. In the kibbutz he met Deborah nee Stifelman, who was born in Russia and immigrated to Palestine as part of the Halutz from the United States. The two married in 1934 and had three sons. The eldest son died of an illness at the age of 6. He built the studio in the kibbutz with the encouragement of Haim Atar and he would do his paintings in the evening when the work was finished. In 1947 he left the kibbutz and moved to Kfar Saba , where he worked As a plasterer. From there the family migrated to Tel Aviv and finally in 1955 he moved to live in Holon , in Beit Aharon Giladi. In addition, he had a studio in Safed. From 1955 he began exhibiting in galleries in Europe and the United States.
Giladi presented 3 solo exhibitions at the Katz Art Gallery in Tel Aviv (1939, 1956, 1958). Three reliefs he created for the front of the gallery in 1969 (then it was already called Idan Gallery) are still placed in their place at 19 Frishman Street in Tel Aviv. He participated In 1957 at the Art Biennale in Sao Paulo .
He was a member of the New Horizons group. He twice won the Dizengoff Prize for the art of painting and sculpture, in 1948 and 1954. In 1960 he won the Histadrut prize. Giladi is mentioned in the book Home by Assaf Inbari. Aharon Giladi was buried at his request in Kibbutz Afikim. He left behind his wife, two sons - Israel and Ilan and grandchildren. In 1997, a retrospective exhibition was held in his memory at the Mishkan for Art in Holon.
