Early letter by Rav Zelig Reuven Bengis at the time he was Rav in Bodki dealing with a husband who went on tormenting his wife and trying to stop him. The letter was sent to Rav Josef David Rushkin-Shachor.
Rav Zelig Reuven Bengis [1864-1953] was born in Lithuania and learned in Volozhin. He was famous as a genius and served as Rav in several towns. In 1938 he was appointed as the head of the Eida Hacharaides in Jerusalem as follower of Rav Sonnenfeld. He wrote a monumental work "Laflagos Reuvain".
Letters by Rav Bengis from this period of his life are not found. Impressive letter written on big page, in excellent condition.
