A fascinating letter by Rav Chaim Berlin, describing in a very humoristic way his new congregation in Kovrin and its internal human problems.

Rav Chaim also tells about the visit by the represents of the Chasidim who came to meet him.

A second letter, written by his grandson Rav Jacob Alishkovsky, written on more than two pages, is added to the first one.  The grandson became orphaned in early childhood and therefore grew up in his grandfather's  house as an additional son. In his letter he describes more about the new congregation and mentions the work on responds of the Naziv

Rav Jacob Alishkovsky  was a genius in Tora and in science and had great influence also on gentiles. he went on Alyah, founded educational institutions and was head of the Mizrahi in Israel. 

The letters were send to Rav Josef David Roshkin- Shachor in the year 1893.
