Witness: Passing the Torch of Holocaust Memory to New Generations עדות: העברת לפיד זיכרון השואה לדורות חדשים - To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and the liberation of Europe from the brutal rule of Nazi Germany the International March of the Living (with the help of the USC Shoah Foundation founded by Steven Spielberg after directing Schindler’s List) have released an updated version of Witness: Passing the Torch of Holocaust Memory to New Generations that provides a living history of the Holocaust. In this new edition each photograph of a survivor, rescuer, or WWII liberator is embedded with an invisible barcode that connects the reader to the vivid and full testimony of the individual pictured. In fact, 75 videos, many featuring Canadians, housed on the USC Shoah Foundation or March of the Living websites can be accessed with just a mobile device. In April of 2020 the CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes ran a feature showing how technology allowed students today and for decades in the future, to meet the “witnesses” to the Holocaust.
