Large conch - Rapana venosa, also known as the Black Sea Rapa Whelk or ”Asian Rapa Whelk”. This is a large predatory sea snail from the Muricidae family. - Heavy and massive structure: has a wide and large central whorl and a relatively short spire. Shell interior (key): characterized by a deep orange to yellow-orange hue, smooth and shiny. External texture: rough, with prominent ribs, bumps and folds that give it a ”rocky” and rough appearance. External color: ranges from brown in composition with shades of cream, gray and sometimes dark vein-like stripes.
