A long Hallachic Tshuva from Rabbi YEHUDA ASAD of Szerdahely to his renowned son Rabbi Aharon Shmuel Assad
A long Hallachuic tshuva regarding the laws of Sefer Torah. This is printed in his sefer Tshuvos Mahari"a volume II siman 268.
The letter is secretarial written besides the first and last lines which are in his handwriting and his signature.
Rabbi Yehuda Assad (1796-1866) – Mahari”a Assad, was rabbi of Szerdahely and one of the most prominent Hungarian rabbis. He was a disciple of Rabbi Aharon Suditz and Rabbi Mordechai [Maharam] Bennet. He served as Rabbi of Szerdahely from 1853 through his death in 1866. His responsa were printed posthumously, in addition to his novellae on the Talmud, Torah and Aggadot of Chazal. He was a zealous combatant of all reforms and reformers, adopting the stance of the Chatam Sofer.
