Auction 88 The 20th Chabad Auction for Chodesh HaGeulah
Dec 7, 2025
Bnei Brak, Israel

All items of this auction that were given directly by the Rebbe were thoroughly checked by the auction house to determine who received them from the Rebbe. For most of them, we received additional evidence such as a photograph taken when the item was received and varied authenticity tests.

The recipients' names were obscured in most of the items, at the request of their owners, and will be revealed to the buyers. Be advised, further questions about the items should be directed to the auction house until 24 hours before the auction. Entering a bid is binding with all that that entails. Thank you.

Item Overview

Description:

Siddur Tehilat Hashem Printed in Fayid at the Height of the Yom Kippur War
Siddur Tehilat Hashem, Ari version, printed in Fayid, a city in Egypt on the western side of the Suez Canal (!), during the Yom Kippur War, 1974.

The city of Fayid was conquered by the IDF during the Yom Kippur War and abandoned after the armistice agreement. In total the Israelis were only there for 4 months, but in that time Chabad Chassidim managed to print by the Rebbe's orders two editions of the Tanya, a Sefer TEhillim and a Siddur.

Size 12cm. Soft binding, stains and minor blemishes - mainly external (see picture). Very good overall condition.

During the Rebbe's Sichah on Chag Hage'ulah, Tamuz 12, 1974, he said (freely translated from Yiddish): "And especially when this Tanya is now studied, and from this Siddur one prays, and a Psalm is recited from this Tehillim... then it becomes openly revealed that in Fayid there is an eternal presence of Toras Hashem and His Mitzvos, including also the inner dimension of the Torah... And particularly now that the Tehillim and Siddurim are present here, and Jews are studying and praying with them, or reciting a chapter of Tehillim from them... by this, they bring closer the true and complete Redemption."
