Six sidrei Mishnah, miniature format, two sections in one volume. Copy of Rav Yehoshua Kaniel, Chief Rabbi of Haifa and student muvhak of Rav Avraham Isaac HaKohen Kook. Amsterdam, first section, 1697. Second section 1707.
First section includes Zra’im, Mo’ed, Nashim. The second includes Nezikin, Kedoshim, Taharot. Dedication on the page before the cover to Rav Yehoshua Kaniel. Rav Yehoshua Yaniel (1896-1970) was a student of Rav Kook and was among his first students appointed at the OtzerChayyim yeshiva in Yafo. Studied alone with him. In 1920 he was sent by Rav Kook to support the serving Chief Rabbi, Baruch Markus. In 1922 he was appointed to the Rabbinical Council of Haifa, and founded the Beit Din in Haifa, where he served as a dayan, alongside the Chief Rabbi of Haifa. After Rabbi Baruch Markus passed away, he was appointed to succeed him. At his burial, Rav Kook gave an emotional eulogy. Printer: Casper Sten. With old front binding. 11.5x7.5cm.
