Glosses Handwritten by Rabbeinu the Chida: Basic Book - Daat Zekenim by Ba'alei HaTosafot - First Edition Livorno 1783

Sefer Daat Zekenim, commentaries by Ba'alei HaTosafot on the Torah and Sefer Minchat yehuda by Rabbi Yehuda ben Rabbi Eliezer, one of the Rishonim. First ediiton - Livorno, 1783. [9], 90, 29 leaves. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod no. 7. In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection

Approbations by the rabbis of Livorno, the Chida and more. In addition, two rhymed poems of friendship by rabbis of the period. Late binding. Many leaves with restorations to the edges, some of them affecting the text. Stains. Moth damage. Fair-good overall condition.

Inside the book, 2 glosses handwritten by Rabbeinu Chaim Yosef David, the Chida (identified by the form of the script and their content, which appears nowhere except for the Chida's books):

1. A gloss dealing with Shmaya and Avtalion on leaf 42 - its content appears in Rabbeinu the Chida's book Simchat Haregel on the Passover Haggadah (leaf 95b of the first edition, Livorno 1782) and in Birkei Yosef Choshen Mishpat Siman 6.

2. The gloss on leaf 80b deals with the obligation to say 100 blessings per day - its content appears in Rabbeinu the Chida's book Petach Enayim, Menachot chapter 4 leaf 43b (leaf 62a of the first edition, Livorno 1890).

In addition, 10 additional glosses with quotes from many of the Chida's books, one of them beginning with"אני יוסף"-? Possibly, some were handwritten by the Chida - we could not say for certain.

On the title page, a signature, apparently by one of the rabbis of Izmir.
