Jewish National Fund certificate, 1946, Sh'erit ha-Pletah (Holocaust survivors living in DP camps).
The tree was planted by Yisrael Ganiandezky in memory of a family memeber that perished in the Holocaust. The tree was planted in the Forest of the Martyrs, which is a forest on the outskirts of West Jerusalem. The forest was planted as a memorial to those who died in the Holocaust and contains six million trees, symbolizing the six million Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis and their collaborators in World War II.
The certificate is not dated but the drawing is (1946).
The drawing is by Professor Perec Willenberg and is divided into three sections.
