Section II on tractates, the Torah and Chamesh Shitot.
Rabbi Meir Barabi Bar Shaul, the Rav of Pressburg. Rabbi Mordechai Bennet and Rabbi Daniel Frostitz were two of his famed disciples. Was knowledgeable in medicine and music. He put in place many regulations such as banning theater and card games.
Corresponded with leading rabbis including the Noda BiYehuda, who wrote a foreword to his book although he had previously vowed not to give approbations. He objected to the printing of his responsa and his book Chidushei Maharam was the only one that was published.
Pedigreed. Ownership stamp of Rabbi Michael ben Rabbi Shmuel Fischer Av Beis Din of Zombar (near Kerestirer). Some stains. Some taping.
Good overall condition.
