Two important and rare editions of Layesharim Tehillah by the Ramchal - Berlin, 1780. Josefow, 1826.

A unique book, Layesharim Tehillah, an allegorical-moral play, by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto - the Ramchal.

"Song of Friendship for the wedding day of the wise Rabbi de Chaves with the modest praiseworthy bride Ms. Rachel de Vega Enriques".

In 1743, the Ramchal published fifty copies only of the book "and they were brought only to the treasures of the Sephardic philanthropist of Amsterdam..." (from the foreword of Rabbi Shlomo Dubno to the second edition [one of these two copies]).

layesharim Tehilla is one of the three plays written by the Ramchal and one of his most important literary works. The main character of the play is Tehiilah, the daughter of Hamon who is about to marry Yosher, the son of Emet. The prospective groom, Yosher, is replaced by mistake with Rahav, who is actually the son of the maid, Sichlut. Tehillah almost marries Rahav yet eventually, the truth is discovered and she marries Yosher, the man of her choice.

The play, of course, is an allegory, the Ramchal conveying deep moral and philosophical ideas via a fascinating literary technique. In his introduction to the play, the Ramchal writes: "There is nothing like allegory to give rise to truths, teach wisdom and reveal deep and hidden things..."
