Segulah. Coin for protection given directly by the hidden Kabbalist Rabbi Avraham [Yechiel] Fisch, wrapped in paper with his handwritten signature.
Rabbi Avraham used to hand out these coins on Motza'ei Shabbat, during the Melaveh Malka meal, during which miracles occasionally occurred to the participants' astonishment.
Rabbi Avraham Yechiel Fisch (also known as the Holy Builder) was born in Tarnow, Galicia. In his youth, he followed the Admorim of Stotshin and Ropshitz. He immigrated to Israel during the Holocaust. Was considered one of the 36 hidden Tzaddikim of the generation.
He lived in Tel Aviv, near the Carmel Market. He and his wife, Rebbetzin Fradel (Sarah), helped hundreds of disadvantaged couples, buying them refrigerators. When asked why refrigerators, he answered that when he goes up to Heaven and is sentenced to Hell, he could ask to be cooled in those refrigerators... He passed away in 1998 and was laid to rest in the ancient cemetery of Safed.
Was a member of the group of hidden Tzaddikim that included Rabbi Moshe Yaakov Rabikov (the Holy Shoemaker), Rabbi Leon Patilon, Rabbi Yosef Walltuch and Rabbi Chaim Moshe of Bnei Berak.
