Benjamin Disraeli – Official Private Cover Addressed to Him, with Embossed British Treasury Seal – 19th Century - 19th-century official cover handwritten to Benjamin Disraeli (1804–1881), the British statesman and author who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The cover is marked “Private” at the upper left and addressed to: “The Right Honourable B. Disraeli, M.P.” with Whitehall appearing below. The reverse bears an official crowned embossed paper seal incorporating the inscription “TREASURY, ” establishing an association with the British Treasury. The Treasury connection is particularly interesting in relation to Disraeli, who served several terms as Chancellor of the Exchequer during his political career.
