Issued by the London Stereoscopic & Photographic Company Ltd., one of the pioneering and most important firms in the history of British stereoscopic photography. The image provides a particularly rich record of London street life during the 1890s. Horse-drawn carriages and other vehicles crowd the roadway, pedestrians fill the pavements, a handcart appears prominently in the foreground, and shops, businesses and period advertising signs extend along both sides of the street.
