Strongly abstracted composition in partly strong colours on a grey and black ground, impasto painting, synthetic resin on hardboard, signed and dated lower right "K. Bunge (19)67", on the reverse of the painting a note and hereon handwritten inscribed "Kurt Bunge "Muschelbild III" 90 x 100 (Kunstharz)", slight traces of pressure of the still wet painting, framed, folding dimensions approx. 90 x 100,5 cm. Artist info: Germ. Painter, graphic artist and restorer (1911 Bitterfeld to 1998 Kassel), lived in Halle, originally decorative painter, from 1928 to 1933 student of Carl Crodel and Gerhard Marcks at the school of arts and crafts in Halle, study trips to Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic, from 1940 to 1945 war service, From 1950 lecturer, from 1957 professor at the Giebichenstein Academy of Art, occupation with woodcut, 1959 move to Kassel, exhibitions a. o. at the Giebichenstein Academy of Art, 1959 move to Kassel, exhibitions a. o. at the Giebichenstein Academy of Art, 1959 move to Kassel, exhibitions a. o. at the Giebichenstein Academy of Art. a. 1946 at the General German Art Exhibition in Dresden, 1947 at the exhibition "Malerei der Gegenwart" in the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig as well as 1949 and 1958/1959 at the German Art Exhibitions in Dresden, through membership in the Deutscher Künstlerbund participation in a total of eleven DKB annual exhibitions between 1952 and 1973, Kurt Bunge's students included Dieter Rex, Otto Möller and others.
