Large bust of the Roman Emperor Caracalla
c. 1900, unsigned, stucco, bust depiction of the Roman emperor with head turned to the side and tense facial expression, this type of Caracalla bust is called "First autocrat type" in research, was often imitated, especially in the early modern period, and there are several such representations in important museums such as the National Archaeological Museum in Naples and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, on a stepped base, one corner of the robe with a missing part and a small chip, h 68 cm.
