attributed to Banksy - (England-based street artist). Stop and Search graffiti on 3 garage doors from Bethlehem; next to the Banksy's gaffiti on the wall of separation dimensions 297X126X5 cm (2 doors) and 297X101X5 cm Other Notes: At this graffiti you can see a soldier with blue latex gloves search the basket of innocent Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, while her dog Toto looks on. The artist wants to illustrate how he perceives the situation of “stop and frisk” policy, where a solider (or a police officer) can conduct a search of a person without any wrongdoing. The artist show us the absurdity of this search by using the character of Dorothy, who representing pure, naive and innocence - and yet even she is not free from the menacing influence of the state. There are also references to other Banksy’s famous works – Balloon Girl, a solider checking the ID of a donkey, and the red balloon of Love.
