One of the most beautiful and impressive bird’s eye views of Venice, with the smaller islands of Murano, Torcello and Burano in background, as it looked at the end of the sixteenth century. Copper engraving on 2 joined sheets, from “De Rebus Publicis Hanseaticis” of Johann Angelius von Werdenhagen, published by Matthaeus Merian. Size 30x70 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, Netherlands
