Classic commentary on the RaMBaM Hilchos Ishus and Geirushin, by R. Yonasan Eibeschitz. With many important approbations, including the Dayanim of Prague.
R. Yonason Eibeschutz (1690-1764), was orphaned of his father as a child. He was raised by R. Meir Eisenstadt (Ponim Me’iros). He served initially as Rosh Yeshiva in Prague and in 1741, was appointed as Rov in Metz succeeding R. Yehoshua Falk (Pnei Yehoshua). In 1750, he was appointed as Rav of the joint communities of Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbeck (AHU) where he served until his passing. One of the greatest Achronim, he authored over thirty seforim on a wide range of subjects.
R. Yehoshua Heschel Efrasi (1780-1852), was a follower of R. Avrohom Yehoshua Heschel of Apta (Apta Rav). He served as Rebbe in Cholyov. Author of sefer Nachlas Yehoshua. He was succeeded by his son R. Rueven Dovid (1830-1903). At the front of the sefer is an inscription stating that “this sefer belongs to the Cholyover Rebbe”. There is also a full page inscription cataloging the Seforim in the Cholyover Rebbe’s library.
