On the title page of the book (and on additional leaves), the stamp of Rabbi Simcha Ha'Levi Soloveitchik Av Beit Din of Mogilev.
On the margins of the leaves, dozens of important halachic glosses, in ink and pencil, handwritten by Rabbi Simcha.
Rareness: manuscripts by Rabbi Simcha have never been seen in auctions, all the more so, important halachic novellae like those before us.
Rabbi Simcha Ha'Levi Soloveitchik (1879-1942) was the son of Rabbi Yosef Dov Soloveitchik, author of 'Beit Ha'Levi'.
Rabbi Simcha served as the rabbi of Mogilev during the years 1911-1924. He also established a reputable Yeshiva there with many talented students.
Several months ago, the book "Simcha le'Artzecha" was published. The book contains a photocopy of a manuscript with his handwritten novellae.
