Rabbi Eliezer Yitzchak Fried (1809-1853) eas the rabbi and Av Beit Din of Volozin and the head of the Volozhin Yeshiva, the grandson of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin. TAfter his death, the Natziv of Volozhin, who was his brother-in-law, replaced him as head of yeshiva.
His son, Rabbi Chaim Hillel Fried (1837-1911) was the deputy of the head of the Volozhin Yeshiva, alongside the Natziv.
Condition: Good. Half-leather binding, slightly detached. Time and dampness stains.
