Amudei Shitim Lebet Halevi – Important Signatures including a Stamp of Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lau Av Beit Din of Shotz
Amudei Shitim Lebet Halevi. A composition on five tractates of Seder Nezikin. Printed in Prague in 1791.
On the title page of the book, the rare stamp of Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lau, Av Beit Din of Shotz. In the center of the stamp, an illustration of a Torah Scroll.
An ancient signature on the top of the title page.
Printed on the lower part of the title page is an illustration of an impressive man, apparently, Emperor Leopold II of the Holy Roman Empire, who is referred to in the title page.
Approbations by the 'Noda BiYehuda' and Rabbi Elazar Kalir.
The title page is restored in its margins.
[2] 57 leaves, instead of 60 leaves. The leaves missing here are also missing from other known copies of the book, and apparently, were not printed in some of the copies. In the copy appearing in "Hebrew Books" they contained "Chidushei HaGe'onim", which are not part of the composition. It should be noted that on the lower part of the last page of the copy before us there is a decoration indicting the book had ended.
Few signs of worming. Good overall condition.
