Exquisite Writing Desk – Handcrafted by the Rebbe Maharash for Rebbetzen Rivkah - Historical Significance: A magnificent piece of Chabad heritage: a writing desk hand-built by the fourth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Shmuel (the Maharash), for his wife, Rebbetzen Rivkah. As recorded by the Frierdiker Rebbe in Sefer Toledos Admur Hamahrash (p. 21), the Rebbe’s physicians advised him to engage in physical craftsmanship for health reasons. Displaying extraordinary artistry and technical skill, the Rebbe constructed various household items. Notable among these were his ”mosaic-style” tables, characterized by intricate wood inlay work. This desk showcases that signature craftsmanship, blending refined aesthetics with the profound sanctity of its creator. Attached is a link to a photo showing a delegation led by the son of the Gerer Rebbe visiting the Rebbe's room. In the background, a table can be seen similar to the aforementioned table, which is likewise adorned with the same mosaic craftsmanship. https://did.li/Gerrer-Rebbe-s-Son-Impressed-by-770-Visit Dimensions: Height: 30 1/2 inches Width: 43 inches Depth: 29 inches Style: Mosaic / Wood Inlay
