Ga'ash - Hebrew Poetry Book - Kiev, 1924
Novak, Mili [Shmuel]. Ga'ash. Kiev: Meluche Trest, [1924].
Poetry book by Mili Novak, style inspired by the October Revolution and by the writings of Mayakovsky and Alexander Blok. Novak's poetry is one of the early examples of proletarian-Communist poetry in Hebrew. The cover design presents a unique typography, done by the artist Manuel (Emanuel) Shechtman (1900-1941) - a graphic designer, painter and theater-sets designer, student in Kiev's art academy, close to the literary circles in Kiev at the 1920s, and active in areas of culture and art. 47 pages, 22.5 cm. Good condition. Corner of back cover missing.
