Likutei Chesed LeAvraham – Manuscript
Manuscript – corrections and appendixes to the book Zechor LeAvraham, Salonika, [1800s-1820s]. Cover bears paper sticker with inscription "Likutei Chesed LeAvraham". The book Zechor LeAvraham, by Rabbi Avraham Alkalai was first printed in Salonika in 1798. The author moved from Salonika to Safed and died in 1811. In 1815, Rabbi Yehuda Chaim, ben Rabbi Moshe Alkalai, nephew of the author, published the third part of the book, which is the final draft with all of the author's additions and corrections, and poof-reader's additions.
This notepad binds together, out of order, cut-off pages from that manuscript; they are possibly the proofreader's autograph. The proofreader was a great scholar in his own right. As Rabbi Avraham Palagi writes, (VaYaan Avaham, Orach Chaim 46), "It is well known that he is mighty in Torah". – See enclosed material.
Long narrow notepad, 6x17.5 cm. Over 50 pages, good condition. Worn and stained by time. Cardboard cover.
