Jerusalem – Illustrated Ceramic Tiles
21 illustrated ceramic tiles, with views of the Old City of Jerusalem. [Eretz Israel, 1950s/60s].
Illustrated ceramic tiles, on a wooden board. Signed "Horwitz".
In the center of the illustration – view of the Old City of Jerusalem. A frame decorated with floral designs, two massive pillars with grape clusters on their top. On the lower part appear two trees and amongst them deer, gazelles, a lion and a tiger (maybe in the spirit of Prophet Isaiah: "and a tiger shall lie with lamb…").
Tiles 20X20 cm; the plate 68X148.5 cm (including frame). Minor break to one tile.
