Printer's sheet with six Simchat Torah flags for children. Vilnius: Rosenkranz & Schriftsetzer, 1899.
Printed on both sides in lithographic printing, after woodcuts, depicting six subjects related to the holiday of Succot and Simchat Torah: "Agil ve Esmach beSimachat Torah", "Sisu veSimchu beSimchat Torah", "Ratz KaZvi veGibor keAri", "Kol HaEzrach beIsrael yeshvu baSuccot", "Moshe Same'ach beSimchat Torah" and "Aharon Same'ach beSimchat Torah". The flags, printer's details, censor's authorization and the year - were all printed twice, on both sides of the sheet.
This set of flags does not appear in the catalogue "The Flags of Simchat Torah, from Popular Jewish Art to Hebrew-Israeli Culture" (Eretz Israel Museum, Tel-Aviv, 2012), nor in the catalogue of the Museum of Jewish History in Russia, Moscow, 2015.
63X50 cm. Overall good condition. Folding marks. Slight tears and creases at margins. Pencil and ink inscriptions on margins.
