"Shiviti"- amulet. [Probably from Morocco, first decades of 20th century].
Ink and paint on paper.
"Shiviti" serving also as an amulet for protection of baby and mother. In the center appears a "Lamenatze'ach" Menorah with Tablets of the Law above it. Two additional Menorahs in the left and right columns with verses of "Shir LaMa'alot" and "Ana BeKo'ach", with Hamsahs above them with verses for protection and blessing. On the lower part of the columns appear texts for protecting a baby and his mother with remnants of illustrations (very faded) of the protective angels. Remnants of illustrations in color, of windows and decorated arches with initials and Kabbalistic letter combinations. The frame consists of angels' names. Dedication: "Zot HaMenorah…lizchut Rabbi Hananya Hacohen" (a person of virtues, known for miracles, rabbi in Marrakesh).
33X43 cm. Fair condition. Some holes. Stains. Numerous faded or totally deleted illustrations. Framed. Unexamined out of frame.
