Hannukah Lamp - Holland - Star of David - Hanukkah lamp. [Holland, 19th or early 20th century]. Cast brass; sheet brass. Hanukkah lamp of the type used by the Portuguese community in Holland. At the top of the back plate are two fleur-de-lis decorations. At the edge of the central decoration is a Star-of-David-shaped ornament, in the center is a hook for placing the shamash (missing), surmounting the Hebrew inscription ”Hanukkah”. Inserted in a brass-aheet holder and suspended from two hooks attached to the back plate; placed above a basin for collecting dripping oil. Length: 31 cm, width: 24.5 cm. Missing shamash. The row of oil fonts may not be original. Missing screws. Missing side plates (?). Soldering repairs to top decoration. See: Hanukkah Lamps of the Judah L.
