Silver Hanukkah Lamp - Russia-Poland, 19th Century
Hanukkah lamp. Russia-Poland, [19th century].
Silver (marked), cast, repousée and embossed.
A pair of heraldic lions, holding a seven-branched Menorah, appear in the center of the back plate. On top of the back plate is a pair of peacocks with a Torah Crown between them. The lamp is positioned on a wide base shaped as a couch with four legs. The nuts (on the reverse and on the bottom) are designed as flowers.
Length: 28 cm, width: 28 cm. Lacking the Shamash and a jug. One oil font is broken and detached.
