Rabbi Shlomo of Dubna (1739-1813), disciple of Rabbi Shlomo of Chelm, author of "Merkevet Ha-Mishne", published many books, his own and by others.His library was of the richest and most important among book collectors, and many articles were written about it.
Was one of the editors of Mendelssohn's commentary on Bereshit, but when he realized Mendelssohn's intentions for reform he left and went on to publish Humashim of his own, for which he received approbations of the generations greatest Rabbis (Rabbi Shmuel Av Beit Din Vilna; Rabbi Hayim of Volozhin and Rabbi Zelmale of Volozhin, both disciples of Hagr"a; Geonim of Vilna, Shklov and Slutzk; Rabbais of Levov, Berlin and Frankfurt etc.).
