Copy of Rebbe Pinchas Rabinowitz of Kontikoziva, with his stamp on the title page and other leaves.
Rebbe Pinchas Rabinowitz (1861-1926), rebbe of Kontikoziva (Pribuzhany, Kherson region), succeeded his father R. Yitzchak Yoel Rebbe of Linitz. He is described as "an outstanding scholar in the revealed realms of the Torah". His composition Avodat Yitzchak on the Torah remained in manuscript.
The author, R. Moshe Shoham Rabbi of Dolyna (d. 1820) was one of the youngest disciples of the Baal Shem Tov, whom he quotes in his book. He also authored Seraf Pri Etz Chaim on kabbalah, and Imrei Shoham on Talmudic tractates.
[2], 3-58; 6 leaves. 21 cm. Bluish paper. Fair condition. Stains, including dampstains (dark stains to title page and several leaves). Worming, slightly affecting text. Closed and open tears to title page and margins of some leaves. Several leaves with tears and damage to center of leaf (due to adhesion), affecting text. Inscriptions on title page. New binding.
