Responsa Tashbetz, four parts, by R. Shimon son of Tzemach Duran. With Responsa Chut HaMeshulash, by the author's grandsons. Amsterdam, 1738. First edition, with seven title pages.
Two volumes. Vol. I (parts I-II): [12], 91; [1], 69, [1]. Vol. II (parts III-IV): [8], 68, [1]; [1], 101, [1] leaves. 31.5 cm. Good condition. Stains, including dampstains. Holes to two leaves, slightly affecting text. A few marginal tears. Several detached leaves. Inscriptions. Stamps. Old bindings, damaged and detached.
This edition has several variants, which can be differentiated by the number of title pages. Some copies are known to have seven title pages, while others were printed with only four title pages (see Bibliography of the Hebrew Book, listing 125589, and see article by Dan and Gita Yardeni, Alei Sefer, X, pp. 119-132). The present copy is divided into two volumes, and it includes 7 title pages: two at the beginning of each volume, one at the beginning of part II, and two in part IV. Additionally, extra copies of leaves [3-4] and [9-12] from beginning of book were bound at beginning of vol. II.
