Rare Pin of Regiment 89 – The Commando Unit Commanded by Moshe Dayan – 1948 War
Pin of the Mechanized Expeditionary Regiment 89. [Israel, ca. 1948-1949].
The unit, established during the 1948 War in order to carry out raids on enemy territory, was initiated and commanded by Moshe Dayan. Among others, it took an important part in "Operation Danny" for conquering the Lod Airport. In 1949 it was dismantled by order of David Ben-Gurion.
Approx. 30X40 mm. Good condition.
