This set contains the work Segulat Yisrael, a commentary on Midrash Rabbah, based on the teachings of Rabbi David Adani, a prominent Yemenite sage, along with a commentary on the Torah by Rabbi Israel Cohen, son of Rabbi Shlomo Cohen from Chubra, Yemen. The work was originally written around the year 1679 (Shanah 5479) and is considered an important part of Yemenite Jewish scholarship.
The manuscript was preserved in the library of Rabbi Kook, where it was cataloged under the name "Sha'arit Yisrael."
