Rabbi Yosef Moshe Heshil (1780-1856), the son and successor of the Rebbe of Opatow Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heshil.
After his father's death in 1825, a small group of his Hassidim in Mezhbizh announced him their Rebbe. His older brother, Rabbi Yitzchak Meir, who did not want to insult his younger brother, left the city of Mezhbizh and moved to Zinkov where he lived until he died. Rabbi Yosef Moshe remained in Mezhbizh. He inherited his father's apartment and his Beit Midrash, where he continued to pray with his Hassidim.
Rabbi Yosef Moshe refused to act as a Rebbe and encouraged his Hassidim to travel with him to his brother Yitzchak Meir in Zinkov, of whom he was a great admirer. Although he did not act as a Rebbe, on Rosh Chodesh, he used to travel to the small towns and villages which were under the cover of his father the Rebbe and lead a festive meal with the participation hundreds of people who came to feast with him.
He also used to travel to Rabbi Yisrael Friedman of Ruzhin.
