The Shulchan Aruch of the Rebbe Rabbi Shalom Eliezer Halberstam of Ratzfert (the Son of the 'Divrei Chaim' of Sanz) with His Handwritten Signature and Stamp
Shulchan Aruch beginning with Tur Orach Chaim. Sudilkov, 1834. With the 'Chukei Chaim' commentary by Rabbi Moshe Yekutiel Kaufman.
The book contain stamps of the Rebbe Rabbi Shalom Eliezer Halberstam of Ratzfert. At the end of the book (on the leaf with a Kabbalistic prayer said before studying) his handwritten signature: "Shalom Eliezer".
The Rebbe Rabbi Shalom Eliezer Halberstam of Ratzfert (1862-1944) was the sixth son of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, the founder of the Sanz Hassidism. Rabbi Shalom Halberstam was the founder of the Ratzfert Hassidism. He married the daughter of the Rebbe Rabbi Mordechai Dov Twersky of Hornosteipel. In 1898, he moved to Hungary and strated serving as a Rebbe, becoming the leader of the Sanz Hassidim in Hungary. In 1898 he moved to Ratzfert and became known as the Rebbe of Ratzfert. He was known as a wonder-worker and thousands of Jews from all around Hungary came to his for a blessing. He acted devotedly to help his Jewish brothers.
He was murdered by the Nazis in Birkenau in 1944.
Today, several of his descendants serve as Rebbes in Israel and abroad and some of them bear the title of the Ratzfert Hassidism. Rabbi Shalom Eliezer's great-grandsons are the brothers who serve as the Rebbes of Satmar, the sons of the Rebbe Rabbi Moshe author of 'Barech Moshe', the son of the Rebbe author of 'Atzei Chaim' of Siget, who was Rabbi Shalom Eliezer's son-in-law.
Condition: Good. The title page and few pages are worn and torn.
