Gold pendant (14 ct) with original bronze prutah from the Jewish War against Rome, 68/9 C.E. – THE MASSADA COIN.
The coins struck during the two Jewish revolts from 66-70 C.E. and from 132-135 C.E. are replete with highly emotive Jewish symbols. The vocabulary of motifs is culled either from the Temple service, or from the seven agricultural species of the Land of Israel. In addition, the inscriptions are nationalistic in nature.
The coin depicts a vine leaf representing the grape, and an amphora of a type which was used in the Temple. The inscription on the obverse is 'for the freedom of Zion'.

Size: 2.5 X 1.7 centimeter approximately.
Total weight (the pendant and the coin): 4.3 grams approximately.
Ideal gift from the Holy Land. The item includes an elegant certificate of authenticity.
