Beit Aharon - Frankfurt, 1690 - First Edition –Title Page Illustrated in Wood Engravings
Beit Aharon - index of the verses of the bible that appear in the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud, Midrashim, Kabbala books, Drush and Mussar (similar to the book "Toldot Aharon" by Rabbi Aharon of Pissarro). By Rabbi Aharon ben Rabbi Shmuel. Frankfrt am Mein, 1690. First edition.

The author, who worked on the writing of the book almost ten years, lists in his introduction thurty six books to which he refers in his composition. The book received fifteen enthusiastic approbations by the rabbis of the era, who noted that it was the first ever reference book of the bible. Today, it constitutes an inseparable part of the printed bibles.

Three unique title pages: two title pages (Torah, Ketuvim) made with wood engravings. On the upper part of the title page appears the text and underneath impressive illustrations of Samuel the Prophet and Aharon Ha'Cohen. A separate title page for Nevi'im Rishonim with a floral frame.
On the lower part of the first title page, the name Mordechai Slavitcher - who is probably the illustrator of the frame.
Most of the pages of the book are framed. Each page is made of three to five columns a page.

On the title page, an ancient inscription: "Baruch Weill" (Maybe he's Rabbi Baruch Weill of Hanover?).
2, 2, 115, 117-178 leaves. 30 cm.
