Chaim Weizmann - Long Handwritten Letter to Rabbi Gaster containing a description of the Intense Work he does regarding Zionist Matters - English - 1915
Long, handwritten letter on official stationery to Rabbi Gaster.
Weizmann regrets the tone of a previous letter Rabbi Gaster had sent him, about his delay in taking care of a certain matter.
Weizmann explains that he was extremely busy with Zionist work in Manchester and London and notes his deteriorating health; therefore, he has not yet taken care of the matter. He states that he will try to do so very soon.
Among others, Weizmann mentions his meeting with the baron Rothschild on an important and discrete matter and an additional meeting with Sokolov.
Weizmann ends the letter stating that for weeks, he has not had one day of peace and quiet.
Rabbi Moshe Gaster (1856-1939), a rabbi of the Sephardic community in London, the head of the Zionist Federation there. The historical ceremony of signing the "Balfour Declaration" was held on his house.
