Offers before the live sale are always important, so you don't miss an item you are interested in,

we publish the catalog at least 12 days before the live sale,

so you have plenty of time to make an offer on the item you are interested in.

*The other reason: we receive an update from you during the live sale when you

make an offer and it is not accepted, indeed there are network delays sometimes and it is

important not to wait until the last second and make an offer at least 10 seconds before

Second in the "Sages of Israel" series
Maimonides, Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, 1135 – 1204, is the greatest of the Torah scholars of Israel from the Talmud period to the present day. A prolific creator in all areas of Judaism, a thinker and leader. One of the most important philosophers of the Middle Ages, a physician and scientist, and an influential researcher for generations.
His book "The Strong Hand", also called "Mishnah Torah", is a monumental single work, the greatest in all of Israel's history, since the signing of the Mishnah. Within it, it contains all areas of the oral Torah between man and man, between man and place, between man and himself, in this time and the future to come. All of this - in precise, clear and polished Hebrew, in a logical order and in a clear, authoritative and unambiguous style.
His philosophical book "Teacher of the Perplexed" is the most wonderful expression of the quest for the perfection of wisdom in Judaism, the culmination of which is the revelation of prophecy. While reconciling and confronting Greek philosophy and the methods that stemmed from it, Maimonides establishes the faith of Israel, a righteous faith in the Creator of the world and His Watcher.
Maimonides was born in Cordoba, Spain, and due to persecution by Islamic fanatics, his family migrated to Fes, Morocco, from where they moved to the Land of Israel and from there to Egypt. His most significant teacher was his father, Rabbi Maimon the Dayan.
Despite his wanderings and occupations, he authored many important books, including commentaries on the Mishnah and Talmud, chapters on philosophy and medicine, and hundreds of halachic responsa. Even during his lifetime, he was given admiring nicknames, which came to give a verbal expression to his strength and breadth of mind. His nickname among the people, "The Great Eagle, " came to illustrate the one who soars above all, and spreads his wings over all the expanses of the Torah, the people, and the land. The expression "From Moses to Moses"
"He did not rise like Moses" also symbolizes the continuity and Torah power of his written and oral works. Maimonides' mark, 800 years after his death, is still visible and distinct throughout the Jewish world.
His public and personal leadership are a model for the life of all Israel and for the rich spiritual world of the Jewish Home at every site.
Obverse of the medal: On the obverse side of the medal is the "Great Eagle", an illustration of Maimonides' well-known nickname.
Reverse of the medal: The reverse side expresses the wisdom and holiness embodied in the Jewish books,
in which the sages of Israel contemplate throughout the generations.
Circumference: The circumference of the bronze medal is serrated, and of the silver and gold medals is smooth.
Design: Aaron Shevo.
Engraving: Romania.
