Our dear participants, an important message for you and new participants:

Offers before the live sale are always important, so you don't miss an item you are interested in,

we publish the catalog at least 12 days before the live sale,

so you have plenty of time to make an offer on the item you are interested in.

*The other reason: we receive an update from you during the live sale when you

make an offer and it is not accepted, indeed there are network delays sometimes and it is

important not to wait until the last second and make an offer at least 10 seconds before

the time closes on the item you are interested in.

Good luck to everyone, for any questions and clarifications:

Rabbi Yosef Chaim of Baghdad (1814-1899) was one of the greats of Israel, a powerful and revered leader and preacher, a jurist and a Kabbalist. He is usually referred to by the name of his popular book on legal rulings and the sermons of the "Ben Ish Chai", as well as the "Richa Tov".
Rabbi Yosef Chaim led the Baghdad community for 50 years.
The Jews of Baghdad admired him and obeyed him in every area. Many knocked on his door with questions of halakhic and learning, seeking advice and blessings, despite the fact that he did not serve in any official rabbinical position
and did not receive any remuneration for his rabbinical activities.
The Jews who knew him revered him not only as a great Torah scholar and a righteous man, but they saw him as an "angel" with superhuman qualities.
The Land of Israel and its holiness occupied a very prominent place in both his thought, sermons, and actions.
In 1869, after the Passover holiday, the Rabbi set out to visit the Land of Israel. On this journey that lasted several months, the Rabbi visited Jerusalem, Hebron, Safed, and Tiberias, prostrating himself along the way at the graves of the nation's fathers, prophets, righteous men, and sages. His material concern was also for the poor of the land and the students of its sages.
His legacy is written in his books and sermons, and that which is passed down orally from generation to generation serves as a way of life for the masses of the House of Israel to this day.
