Everything that happened in the State of Israel was close to the hearts of masses of Jews in the Soviet Union since the state was established, but the Six Day War increased Jewish consciousness to a considerable extent. The anxiety for the fate of the country fighting for its existence passed in the light of Israel's victory, and pride raised the status of the Jews in the face of their hostile environment. Throughout the Soviet Union, classes were organized to study the Hebrew language and the history of the Jewish people.
