Libertad Liberty Silver Medal, 5 oz
A 5 oz pure silver medal features the Goddess of Victory - Victoria as a symbol of Mexico's independence and the Mexican volcanoes in the background.
The reverse of the medal features a sculptural relief of the national shield and the inscription "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" (States of Mexico), surrounded by various national emblems of arms used throughout Mexico's history.
These old volcanoes are both part of Mexico's rich history, and the coins themselves carry symbolism from pre-Columbian Mexican legends.
